Dr. William Nickel
Dr. Nickel is board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and has been in practice for over 25 years. He graduated from Northwestern and received his dental degree at Loyola University School of Dentistry. He earned his certificate in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Nickel is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology and a Past President of the Chicago Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Prior to starting his private practice in Northbrook, he was Director of the four-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Tripler Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has lectured all over the world on various aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Nickel retired from the United States Army Dental Corps in 1999 with the rank of full Colonel and a record of distinguished service. Dr. Nickel participates annually in dental missions to Mexico, Central & South America. He contributes his services to Healing the Children, El Nino Rey & the Dental Lifeline Network.
Dr. Nickel was the official Oral Surgeon of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions Chicago Blackhawks.
